Pre-Residency Postcard

Pre-Residency Postcard FrontPre-Residency Postcard Back

The March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election is quickly approaching! If you are a registered voter of Placer County, you should be receiving (or may have already received) an 8 ½” X 5 ½” pre-residency confirmation postcard from the Placer County Elections Office.

This postcard asks voters to check their voter registration information listed on the card to ensure there are no current errors, like name misspellings or an incorrect political party affiliation. The postcard was sent to all active registered voters, and is an important and valuable tool in keeping elections cost-effective and accurate.

It is important that you do not ignore this postcard – we ask that you take a moment to review it closely, and if anything is inaccurate or needs updating, return the postcard with the correct information and we will update your voter registration accordingly.  If you did not receive a postcard, you can check your voter information at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov or by calling our office at 530-886-5650 (toll-free 1-800-824-8683).

Some voters have expressed concern about their information being visible on the card – though the instructions include directions to “detach” the top portion of the card before returning it via mail, we’ve confirmed with the postal service that voters can fold the top half of the card back the other way (thereby covering their information), tape it on both corners before they mail it (no staples please), and the post office will deliver it.

If you have any questions about the pre-residency confirmation postcard, please reach out to [email protected] or 530-886-5650 and one of our election officials will be happy to assist you.
